What does Osteopathic treatment involve?
The first visit involves taking a full medical history along with a full structural and postural examination, up to one hour. The patient may be asked to remove some outer clothing whilst assessing through palpation, musculo-skeletal health. Neurological and orthopaedic tests may be performed if necessary. Jane may also refer to x-rays, scans, blood tests if needed. Once a diagnosis has been made, Jane will discuss treatment options along with a guide to the number of treatments you may need.
Osteopathic treatment can involve a number of different approaches such as deep soft tissue massage, stretching techniques. joint manipulation. Jane may also recommend exercises, postural advice, dietary advice and hydrotherapy as part of the patients treatment program.
